Steps for customs clearance procedure

Please see below steps for customs clearance procedure

  • Containers are discharged at container terminal by Sea Port Corporation (SPC)

  • Delivery order is obtained from Shipping line office

  • Submit Customs deceleration to Customs authorities

  • Obtain Move order from SPC to move the containers from discharge terminal to the inspection area

  • Submit request for inspection of containers by customs authorities

  • Obtain customs duty fee from tariff section after finishing containers inspection

  • Pay the customs duty value

  • Pay the Sea Port dues

  • Submit request and obtain exit pass for containers from port

  • Obtain import certificate from Customs authorities

  • Obtain Intelligence and security clearance for movement of containers to further destinations (this is only applicable for certain goods and certain consignees)

  • Obtain pass for trucks to enter the port and load containers

  • Obtain exit pass for trucks with loaded container

  • Transport containers to all destinations of Sudan and provide daily tracking report of containers movement

REMARK:
Please note that United Nations goods are exempted for customs duty and Sea port dues. Therefore, points 7 and 8 are not applicable for United Nations goods

Shipping Documents required for Customs Clearance of UN goods:

  • Tax Exemption F1

  • Original Bill of Lading or Seawaybill or Telex Release

  • Packing List

  • Invoice

Shipping documents required for customs clearance of Commercial cargo are, but not limited to:

  • Form IM

  • Import & Export registration Certificate

  • VAT and Tax registration Certificate

  • Exemption Certificate (if any)

  • Certificate of Origin

  • CIQ certificate for goods originating from China

  • Quality assurance certificate for Foodstuff cargo from country of origin

  • (3)Original copies of bill of lading or Telex Release

  • Packing List

  • Invoice
