Carlo Cristiani began his career as a forwarding agent in 1976. He spent the first part of his professional life in customer service assisting those in need of international transport services, especially for general and abnormal cargo by break bulk vessels, including deliveries to remote destinations. He worked for highly specialised shipping companies as an operational and commercial manager.

Greenshields Project Cargo was set up in 1992 mergering with Greenshields & Cowie, a wholly subsidiary of Crown Agents. Initially appointed as Managing Director, now he is CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
