Mosul Dam Shipment

The shipments for restoration works of the Mosul Dam (Iraq) are carrying on.

In addition to the materials for the main construction yard and supplies to set up base camps, even shipments of foodstuffs for the civilian and military personnel are arranged. 
The movements of all the goods to organize the offices included the materials for video surveillance and safety have been planned and scheduled both by truck, vessel and air transports in order to meet the required time for delivery.

Shipments to Mosul’s Dam

Shipments to Mosul’s dam just started.

Transportations service is actually arranged by operating reefer trucks (for perishable cargo) and non-operating reefer trucks (fro dry cargo).
In the next future even combined transports (vessel + truck) will be arranged both
for dry and reefer goods.

Shipment To UNISFA – Sudan

Still arranging movements of goods destined to UNISFA Abyei mission in Sudan by combined transport door to door service clearance included.
In July about 50 teus are expected to be loaded from italian and english ports.

ECTN for SUDAN – Implementation Postponed

Due to technical difficulties in Sudan facing the implementation of the ECTN for shipments to the country, further studies are being conducted with the local National Chamber of Importers and the Union of Chambers of Commerce the issue.
In this respect the Executive Office of the Sudanese Customs Authority advises that the ECTN implementation is being postponed until further notice.
Shippers will be informed in due time about the final date of implementation.

ECTN for Sudan

The Sudanese Customs Authority is introducing the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note for all shipments to/from Sudan. For all shipments to and from Sudan (transit cargo included), the shipper or his forwarder are required to issue an ECTN in the port of loading.

Each Bill of Lading must be covered by at least one ECTN and its unique number needs to be inserted in the Bill of Lading and Cargo Manifest under penalty of fines for the shipping line.
Cargoes arriving without valid ECTN will be blocked for delivery by the local customs in Sudan. This new regulation takes effect as from June 1st 2016 (date of Bill of Lading). For any further information, pls feel free to contact us.

BIFA Freight Service Awards

Our partner Greenshields Cowie has won the Project Forwarding Award at the British International Freight Association (BIFA) Freight Service Awards, in recognition of their work supporting the international Ebola response in Sierra Leone. Greenshields Cowie was also nominated as a finalist for the BIFA Air Cargo Services Award.

The award recognised the vital role that the Greenshields Cowie team played in delivering equipment to Sierra Leone for the UK government-funded Ebola treatment centres. The team worked throughout the outbreak to make sure that the treatment centres received everything they needed when they needed it, from their initial construction all the way through the steady decline and eventual suppression of the virus. At the height of the outbreak, charter flights were departing the UK every 48 hours. In total, the GSC team moved 2,111 tonnes of essential aid into the country.

The BIFA Freight Service Awards competition has been running for over 25 years is renowned for being one of the most prestigious in the industry. The ceremony was held at The Brewery exhibition centre in London on 21st January 2016.

This is the second award Greenshields Cowie has won in recognition of outstanding achievements on the Ebola response; In November 2015, Greenshields Cowie also won Air Freight Solutions Provide of the Year at the Global Freight Awards.

Shipment to Saudi Arabia of a gas station implant destined
