FOCUS : SAUDI ARABIA & DANGEROUS GOODS (2nd Part)

The Saudi Railway Organization (SRO) has recently revised their operating schedule for Dangerous Goods (DG) units discharged at Dammam seaport with final destination “Riyadh dry port”.

Hereafter, SRO will rail the dangerous cargo containers to Riyadh, only once a week every Thursday.

Consequently some delay in arrival of dangerous cargo containers at Riyadh dry port should be expected.

FOCUS : SAUDI ARABIA & DANGEROUS GOODS

Jeddah Islamic Port Authority has issued a circular exempting containers with certain dangerous commodities from providing the custom approval / dangerous goods permit.

This permit was earlier required to discharge cargo at Jeddah Islamic Port, however, with immediate effect, the below listed commodities are now excluded from obtaining the dangerous goods permit and can be discharged as normal:

Paints

Batteries

Vehicles loaded with fuel

Air refreshers

Perfumes and Cosmetics

Fire extinguishers

Refrigerators, air conditioners, equipment that is provided with Freon Gas rube gas, batteries and fuel

Dangerous goods, which belong to government agencies

FOCUS: “NIGER: Malenville Bridge Broken”

GPC adivises that all services from Niger via Cotonou port are temporary stopped due to the collapse of the main road bridge at boarder Malenville.
Please consider as port of discharge for all cargo not yet shipped: Lomè port.
16/10/2018 GPC adivises that Via Cotonou the brigde between Niger and Benin is still broken and only containers put to consider as temporary bridge.

NEW EGYPTIAN CUSTOMS RULES

In order to reduce duties, egyptian authorities issued a new customs rule that provides the issuing of EUR 1 certificate. Also in case of tax exemption (valid only for VAT purpose), it’s mandatory to present EUR 1. Furthermore, it’s required the invoice authenticated by Chamber of Commerce in master copy.

SHIPPING OF AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS FROM ENGLAND TO ZIMBAWE

GPC provides logistics services and freight transport for years,  that includes door to door delivery to developing countries and/or ones in a state of emergency.
GPC has carried out agricultural tractors shipments from England to Zimbawe tacking care of sea-land transport and documentation.

EXCAVATORY SHIPPING FROM USA TO TANZANIA

GPC specialized for years in shipments to the African continent, has recently carried out excavator shipments in Tanzania-Dodoma, taking care of the sea – land transports, and  documents.
As always, the work was followed by taking care of all aspects in quality, first of all the preventive planning.

SHIPMENT TO CONGO

GPC, who operates in the most uncomfortable and remote areas, has carried out a shipment of 20×10′ dry loaded on 7×40′ FR from Italy to Congo.
The transport has been carefully followed from beginning to end by GPC, from the purchase of atypical containers, made in accordance to the regulations for the handling of these units on offshore platform.
Containers production took place in China where GPC collected them to afterwards transport them to Italy and fill out.
The modes of transport required the availability of 40′ FR for regular stowage on board so GPC done it at Genoa port to finally board them to final destinations.

THE NEW EU DUTIES TO THE UNITED STATES

On 20 June 2018 the European Commission adopted the implementing regulation n. 2018/886, in response to US customs duties which will come into force on Friday 22 June.
The new EU duties apply not only to steel and aluminum imports from the US, but also to agricultural products and many other products.
The products and level of duties applicable to them are contained in the implementing regulation 2018/886 of 20 June 2018, published in the OJEU of 21 June 2018 (attached).
